Richard Bone - Joy of Radiation 12"

Another small file for you this time, I'm afraid. I was all set to rip the Abstract Magazine #5 LP, with Colourbox, The Jazz Butcher, Cindytalk, etc., when I did a quick blog search and found that, once again, someone has already posted it, this time on the Waves of Champaign blog. He's also scanned the magazine into a separate file, much more thorough than I would have been, so hurry on over there and download it if you don't have it already. Another record I've been meaning to post is Richard Bone's classic 1983 album of minimal synthpop Brave Tales, but I still can't find my copy. I did, however, find the 12" of "Joy of Radiation", with an extended version of "Joy" on the A-side and three tracks on the B-side: "Sordid Affair", "Do Angels dance", and "A bit of Joy", so I hope that will do for now. Get it here or here; click the Survival tag for other records from the great Survival label available on this blog.

As long as you are looking for it, I want to share what I have: 6 tracks of "Brave Tales" -- the best 6 tracks, as far as I remember. Some are mp3, some are m4a. http://rapidshare.com/files/138804423/R_B_B_Tl.zip.html

Oldskool, thank you so much for sharing those tracks! I am now starting to worry that I have lost my Brave Tales LP, as I am running out of places to look for it. I ripped it once already, several years ago, but I can't remember if I burned it to a CD. There is a chance that I did, and a chance that I can find the CD, but the outlook is getting dimmer. It was never my intention to lure visitors with false promises, so at this point I must say don't expect Brave Tales anytime soon, and it may never appear. Sorry about that. I can post a new rip of the Abstract #5 LP, though; that will be up next.

Thank you, elektro80s, for providing the whole album in this great quality. I must say the tracks I had left (and uploaded) are just as good as the rest -- this is simply a great album without flaws. The picture your mp3s show is the picture disc -- I had this, too, it had terrible surface noise. But what a nice thing it was to have!

Hi oldskool, as you tell the whole album is good and the picture disc (I don't have it) is a very collectible item and like the picture discs in vinyl the sound quality is poor.
It's a pleasure to be able to help in this wonderful blog.
All the best.
